Mother's Day

Every year for Mother's day, Mandy and I take the boys to do the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Race for the Cure at the Mall of America.

The morning started out cloudy and cold, but we put on our layers and headed to catch the light rail to the Mall. The boys had a blast riding the train. It was so much easier then dealing with traffic and parking!

We met up with Amanda, Matthew and Marlene at the Mall to do the walk. Carter and Tante Red stayed home as it was pretty chilly. We got to about mile one and it started to warm up. This was the first year we decided not to bring any strollers or wagons...so everyone had to walk the entire way! Drew was a trouper and only had to be carried a couple of times.

The Bloomington Fire Department had rigs out along the way. The fireman let the boys climb inside for a picture! That was a great diversion for the last mile of the race.

We headed home and Drew fell asleep on the train ride back. He was pretty tired out!

Then Cory, Christos and dad come home from fishing opener and we headed to my parents to have dinner together. It was a great ending to a wonderful Mother's Day.
