My birthday!

So today I turn 34. Not a big momentous birthday and that is OK. The boys surprised me last night with some beautiful flowers after I got home from my MOMS Club End of the Year Banquet. Then this morning they gave me a gift. A new blender!! Not your ideal birthday gift, but what I asked for! So now we can make malts and smoothies :)

Last night was tons of fun! It was my MOMS Club End of the Year Banquet. Time to celebrate with all my stay at home mom friends! We enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Mavericks' and then a great celebration of friends and motherhood. After we stayed for drinks and I finally came home around midnight!! Luckily the boys didn't get up too early this morning!

This past weekend we took the boys to the Twins Game! We just all love watching professional baseball although the boys liked the food at the Dome better then the game! It was lots of fun. We went with Grandma,Grandpa, Mandy, Christos, Sue, Chris, Maggie and Alex. And the Twins won!

Summer is here!!

Summer has finally arrived! The sun is out and it is nice and warm. The boys started summer camp yesterday! They are going Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 12:30-4:30. This is Zach's 3rd year and Drew's 1st. They are loving it so far! I was able to pick up a few daytime hours at the store on Tuesdays and so they get to have daddy pick them up.

Yesterday when we dropped them off, a HUGE military helicopter landed right on the grass near camp. It was visiting the kids who were doing Safety Camp but we all got to enjoy its amazing entrance!

I didn't get a chance to updated the blog on Father's Day, but we had an awesome day with Cory. We decided to pack a lunch and bike to a park near the Coon Rapids Dam. We estimated it was about 4 miles round trip! Zach rode his bike the whole way and Drew got to ride in the bike carrier. Here are couple of picture from our day.

Finally Friday

So Friday has finally arrived! It has been a long first week of summer. The weather hasn't been great so we haven't had as much outside time as we would like this time of year! Hopefully we can get outside and enjoy the weekend!

As i am writing this, they are covering the death of NBC reporter Tim Russert, age 58. I don't really discuss my political views with people often, but I have enjoyed watching Tim Russert over the past years as his coverage of political elections, canidates and interviewing political players has always been so entriguing and professional. My thoughts go out to his family and the other NBC journalists as they deal with his loss at much to early of an age.

Will summer ever come?

The weather lately has been just crappy! Cold, windy, rainy...a few peeks of sun but not enough for June! We have only been to the pool once so far and the forecast doesn't look very favorable for the next 5 days or so. Usually by this time in June we are hitting Elm Creek beach with our lunches and enjoying a day of sun and swimming! Hopefully that day will come soon. Now that school is over and summer is in full swing, we are gearing up for sports classes and summer camp!

Drew is doing a T-ball/Soccer combo class on Monday mornings. He is really excited about that! Zach is doing baseball Monday and Wednesday evenings with some of his friends from MOMS Club! Then Tuesday and Thurday afternoons they both get to attend Summer Camp at the Community Center for 4 hours! This will be Zach's 3rd summer going and Drew's first time. They both can hardly wait...neither can mommy!!

This weekend is busy for me as Creative Kidstuff is having their annual sale so I am busy with lots of hours at work. The store is busy and I love interacting with the customers to help them find fun kids stuff! The boys will have lots of bonding time with daddy too!

Goodbye Kindergarten

I can hardly believe that today was Zach's last day of Kindergarten. Where does the time go? He has grown up so much over the last 9 months. He came home with lots of great projects that they have been working on all year long. He was super excited to show me his yearbook which had people's "autographs" in it! He even had me sign it!

Here he is on his last day!

Here is a great shot of Drew after he had a blue sucker for dessert. Now he really looks like a monster!

Day four

So it has been 4 days since Drew's tumble on the playground. Here is what he looks like today. Much more yellow which is a good sign he is healing well! You should have seen the looks he got at the grocery store today..but nobody asked him what was wrong!
Zach has one more day of Kindergarten left...i can hardly believe it! We picked up some nice little pots of daisies for his 2 bus drivers as they are the sweetest ladies! We have been so blessed to have had such a great first year of school!

trying to catch up!

So I haven't been as faithful on writing on here as much as I would like...so I will try to catch up on the past weeks events!

We spent Memorial Day weekend at the cabin. The weather was decent and the boys had fun as always going down to the dock to do some fishing! We all got a boat ride on grandpa's boat too!
Here is one of my favorite pictures of the weekend of the boys!

Zach is almost done with Kindergarten and so his school had an ice cream social on Friday, May 30th to celebrate! The kids sang some awesome songs and then we had some ice cream with friends and family. Here is a great shot of Zach with Ms. McCloud. She truly was a blessing to have as a teacher this year so we got her some gorgeous roses to say THANK YOU!

On Saturday, Drew had quite the fall at our park. His feet slipped while climbing up the ladder and he fell and hit his head. The bump started to swell as we walked home so we quickly put some ice on it! Here is picture of what it looked like later that afternoon. Auntie Mandy said he looked like something out of Star Trek! :) He was so tough! He never complained that it hurt, he ate and played just like normal Drew. We got our landscaping rock delivered that day too and he jumped right in to help daddy put those rocks around the bushes!

So, Sunday we decided we better take him into the doctor just to make sure he was OK...and he is! Just a big bruise that will eventually drain down around his eyes and make him look like a prize fighter (as Grandma Connie called him). Here you can see his eyes are really starting to bruise up! He is such a tough cookie!
